Debra Rivera Ehrmann (she/her/hers) has been a critical advocate for 30+ years throughout Wayne and Oakland County, Michigan. Debra studied criminal justice at Wayne State University. This experience and training has guided her mission for empowering marginalized communities and has amplified her strong sense of seeking justice for the underserved. Medical interpreter, confectionery baker, mechanic, disaster relief worker, and outdoor survivalist, Debra’s drive has led her to pursue multiple passions throughout her lifetime, jumping at the opportunity to take Latinx youth under her guidance and mentorship. She strongly believes in passing down her learned knowledge and wisdom to the next generation. As a result, Debra has tirelessly worked towards the inclusion, safety, and wellbeing of the Latinx community, bridging the cultural and linguistic gaps in social services. Currently, Debra serves as the Director of Special Projects at Centro Multicultural La Familia–where she has called home for over a decade.
