Miriam MacLean is operations manager at CMLF. The daughter of Bolivians, she grew up in the U.S. speaking both English and Spanish. She studied English at the University of Michigan and at Oxford University, England. She also received a master’s in health services administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health. She has worked in many different capacities. She first worked nearly ten years in policy development and as project manager in strategic planning for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Her husband’s job then took her overseas to Belgium and England, where they started a family. Returning stateside, she worked as an instructor in English and Spanish, and also as an international relocation consultant and interpreter. She has been deeply involved in the schools and community, and is currently president of the Greater West Bloomfield Community Coalition.
