Sonia Acosta, PhD (she/her/ella) is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Centro Multicultural La Familia (CMLF), and is the heart behind the creation of the organization back in 2007. Dr. Acosta is a fully licensed bilingual/bicultural psychologist with 32 years of experience in the field of mental health, substance abuse, parenting education and domestic violence. She is passionate about bringing culturally competent services to the urban community and bridging the gap between communities of color working towards healing and empowerment. Dr. Acosta loves cultural music, international foods and enjoys bird watching in her freetime.
Centro Multicultural La Familia (Centro) is a non-profit organization offering a broad range of services from support for survivors to mental health care and community education. While we provide culturally specific services to Latinx and/or Hispanic individuals, we offer services to a broader cultural community in need.
