Our Mission
Utilize volunteers talents, skills, dedication and willingness to help to collaborate with our staff into providing culturally-competent support services to families in a holistic approach to improve their quality of life. With a variety of programs supporting our community, there are many different ways to get involved with our mission. Centro is always looking for hard-working individuals to help with our various projects. Discover how you can become a volunteer:
Types of Volunteering Opportunities
Direct Client Support
- Client Support: Front desk, filling out forms and applications, administering surveys, accompanying clients, interpretation
- Education & Awareness: Teaching or co-facilitating a class and/or tutoring. Topics may include: citizenship classes, ESL, immigrant guide, financial literacy, LGBTQ awareness, parenting, life skills, and more
- Caregiver/Childcare: Set up activities for children to play such as: story time, arts and crafts, sensory play, etc.
Indirect Client Support
- Translations
- Office work: data entry, client job search, resources database and more
- Social media and marketing: Creating Tikt-Tok content, take video and photography at events.
Case-by-Case
- Events: Help with setup/takedown of tables at events, serve food, help organize material, talk to event goers, promote our services, recruit other volunteers, etc.
- Building and Office Space: help move furniture; organize storage rooms; sort, create, and discard advertising material; help with the remodeling of the courtyard, and more.
- Fundraising and Outreach
- Donation Management: sort and organize donations

You’re invited to the Breastfeeding Fair at Centro Multicultural La Familia—a welcoming space to learn, share experiences, and connect with resources that support mothers, babies, and their families.
Opportunities include:

Event set-up and material preparation
Welcoming participants
Assisting with activities
Event wrap-up and clean-up
By volunteering, you’ll be part of a meaningful cultural celebration that honors our loved ones while creating a warm and welcoming space for the community
